A crown for a Princess! – ¡Una corona para una Princesa!

As you know, we celebrated Bubu’s first birthday some days ago. And of course, our Princess needed a crown!! (I couldn’t resist making it pink…)

I used felt, some lace, some ric rac, and three buttons for the crown itself (I did it the minimalist way, "less is more"!!). And felt, ric rac, and a piece of tulle for the number badge.

I thought about doing a crown that Bubu could still wear a couple of years more, so the number badge is attached to the crown with some Velcro. For the same reason I chose to tie it with the lace trim. Other alternatives would have been Velcro or rubber band, but I thought the trim would be the cleanest and easiest way to do it and also the real way to make the crown grow with her.

Here a few pictures of the processUnas cuantas fotos del proceso:

I share the pattern here. Don't forget to show your version on the flickr group if you make one!
[P.S. The lace and the ric rac are part of my sewing treasures, someday I’ll tell you the whole story…]
