~~&~~

Back to RUMS with my teacher bag. The one I had been using till last year was already broken. Because this course I changed from teaching motivated adults to teaching in a high school, so I was entering the «dark side», like a friend of mine says, I thought I needed something colorful.

~~&~~

I drafted the pattern myself, with all I needed: the right size for a folder and books, outside pocket for tiny things, zipper pocket for the keys, inside pockets...

~~&~~

All fabrics were bought at a local store. I specially like the color of the triangles and the silver shine of the sort of faux leather.

All hardware was recycled from other bags. Yay for recycling!

~~&~~

I centered the triangle print everywhere for a better look.

Chau chau!

~~&~~

If you remember I also did a pencil case at the beginning of the school year.

And that’s all for today!

Libreta forrada – Fabric covered notebook

This is the notebook I covered to do mini Bubu’s dictionary (I write down when she starts using a word and how does she say it). Three years ago I told you about the one I did for Bubu. If you want to see how I did it you can visit my very modest tutorial.
This time I had been looking for the right fabric for ages… until I saw this foxes from I love Kutchi. The right thickness, the right design, lovely colors… mine!

Now mini Bubu can say all the words she wants, I’ll be always ready to note them down!

Cardigan Faye (La Maison Victor)

This is the third garment I sew from the magazine “La Maison Victor”, it’s called “Cardigan Faye” (here the other ones: Robe Ditte and Top Berlin).

The main fabric is the one I bought at Desfilart, it’s a tricot with a kind of lace over it.

I like the combination with this cheap sweatshirt (you saw it on my boxy sweatshirt), because it gives the cardigan a more casual look.

I did some changes at the opening, because I wanted to avoid sewing the metallic fasteners and I wanted to put invisible snaps instead hidden by wider bias tape. That’s why the front looks a bit different from the original.

The size was again too generous, with the alterations at the opening it looks less loose and I also took in the sleeves.

What do you think? Too elegant? I think with a pair of jeans it’s pretty wearable.

My "bye bye 2016" comes a bit late... Like I did in 2013 (with the bracelets) and 2014 (with the wrapping idea), I needed to get rid of some remnants/scraps to say goodbye to the year properly.

My inspiration muses were Veronika (@Tag für Ideen) and Lisa (@Cucicucicoo).

Ok, my bags are not as beautiful as theirs, but they are the first ones, for small things and books.

Ecological gift-wrapping, yay!!
