My sewing machines are so well dressed!! :-D

My friend Laura sewed a cover for my overlock (and other beautiful things) for our gift-swap, do you remember?

Well, you can imagine, that forced me to sew a proper cover for my normal machine.

I asked Anna from Cal Joan for the very same fabric Laura had used, and then it began my “copycat mission”…

I must say Laura had given me a piece of the heart fabric and gave me permission to disassemble one ruffle row, that helped a lot!

Even the red bias tape at the bottom and the very same decorative stitch were copied! Hahaha!!!

The only difference is that she did two pockets and I did only one. But I still can do it if I ever need it!

They look nice one next to the other, don’t they?

~~&~~

A special post and sewing project today, because it’s a shared one.

I met Ángeles (@No solo coso) during the #abcdlacostura. She was joking when she said I could send her some fabrics from the market, but I took her words literally. I bought a big remnant, split it and sent one half to her. Then we both had to sew something without telling the other what.

So, today is surprise day for us! :-D

 Y ¿qué he cosido?

~~&~~

What did I sew?

A Cordula Skirt. A free pattern (here) I’ve seen so many times in RUMS, that I needed to have my own! Hahahaha!

I did the contrasting parts with black jersey. The main fabric was somehow too colorful for me, so I needed something discrete…

The lining is in jersey as well.

And that’s all! I’ve worn the skirt a few times so far. I really like it!

Camiseta sirenas – Mermaids Tee

~~&~~

Everytime we bet something with the crazy sewing blogger friends they are fat quarters. This time, because none of them guessed right on which day Mini Bubu was going to be born, I won them!

Bubu fell in love with a few of the prints, especially with the mermaids (special thanks to Filsanddraps!).

~~&~~

That was easy, I could do a T-shirt, or at least the front part of a shirt. And because I always sew the same pattern for her (here, here and here), I felt like I had to do a new one. The Free Raglan Shirt by Nap Time Creations was worth a try.

~~&~~

For the back and sleeves I used a top given by my sister-in-law, which was brand new. The only thing is that the back of the shirt has a seam from top to bottom. I think it still looks nice, doesn’t it?

Feliz semana!

So here the result. I did a T4, I want her to wear it for a while, by the way!

Happy week!
