Empieza medio bien (abajo), acaba fatal (arriba)...
Here the Top Berlin I already showed on Instagram.

When I found out about the sew-along I didn’t hesitate…! I really love all patterns on this issue of the magazine La Maison Victor (the only one I have, hahahaha!).

So, the pattern is an easy one, and I had to complicate it…

This very very very very slippery striped fabric was the perfect one for it, wasn’t it?

I knew it was going to be impossible to match the stripes, and I swear I tried hard… I tried the glue method, but because I was afraid of leaving a mark on the fabric or ruining the needle, I didn’t sew over it… so, it didn’t work at the end… sorry…

I used normal jersey for the contrast part, by the way.

And that’s all. Now let’s visit RUMS!

See you next week!

Estuche pollito - Chick pouch

Bubu was invited to her first birthday party, one of her schoolmates turned four, and we received the invitacion a few hours before the party… No time to go shopping (mini Bubu ill, hubby working…), I had to do something on my own and quickly…

This is the result, a fabric envelope, lined with a fabric full of chicks (the one I used for mini Bubu’s bag). Bubu’s classroom has a chick as a mascot, so I thought this was the perfect fabric.

Sewing the same thing together (well, 100 km apart) is fun!!

Marta from FushuFana wanted to sew this top called “Kimono”, which can be found on the Ottobre 2/2016 with me! I couldn’t say no!!

Here her version, you curious people.

I’m in a maritime mood lately, and I’ve already sewn two black and navy striped tops… both with very slippery fabrics (I must be crazy…).

The stripes of his one here were easier to match at least! Hahahaha (I haven’t posted about the other one yet, but you saw it on Instagram).

There are two things I altered from the original pattern. One was the two pieces back. I didn’t feel like matching more stripes and I cut it in one piece… And the other was the sleeve cuff I added instead of finishing it with bias.

Now I need a sailboat to match my tops, does someone have a spare one?

City Girl (Ottobre)

Don’t you recognize this fabric? Yes! It’s the same I used for my Robe Ditte! The one I got from Desfilart, the local fabric shop in Girona!

I wanted to sew something for mini Bubu’s first birthday, and I liked this dress a lot (Ottobre 1/2016). I did puzzles to get all pieces when I was cutting the fabric, and I got them all!

As you can see, I even did the top stitching and put the snaps in the same color, so both dresses are linked together without being the same. I love it.

The most arduous part of this garment were the round pockets but they turned out pretty pretty, don’t you think? ;-P

Robe Ditte (La Maison Victor & Collaboration with Desfilart)

:-D ¡Muchas gracias!

~~&~~

On my Easter holidays in France I found the sewing magazine La Maison Victor (March / April 2016). It’s really nice this magazine, it’s true it doesn’t have a lot of patterns on each issue but it has very detailed instructions and lovely designs.

I pinned two patterns automatically, one of them was this dress, la robe Ditte.

At the same time I was talking with Desfilart, a local fabric shop (that is going to go online some day!), about doing a collaboration.

I leave you their media links here, you may want to follow them: Instagram, Facebook, Twitter!

Well, the thing is that I needed the perfect fabric for the dress and they gave me this coral-pink denim with some elastane! Yay!! And thank you!!

~~&~~

The dress has a lot of details, and it’s perfect to practice advanced sewing skills: shirt collar, invisible zipper, pockets, gathering, topstitching… It was really fun to sew it!

I was amazed how nice the top stitching on the “cuffs” and collar band turned out on both sides, how well finished is the yoke inside the dress… I’m proud of me! Hahaha

The only problem is that it’s a bit too big for me, maybe they are too generous with the sizes too?

And now it’s time to visit my sewing mates and their creation on RUMS!
