Felt lantern - Farolillo de fieltro

This is the lantern we made for Bubu to go to await the Three Wise Men. Maybe you don’t know it, but in Spain we get the “Christmas” presents traditionally on the 6th January (yes, we unwrapped a few yesterday!). I think that’s pretty cool, because this way the Christmas spirit lasts longer here…

~~&~~

The “Three Kings” bring the presents in the night from the 5th to the 6th, but in the evening people go to see them in the street parades. It’s something magical for the children.

I’m not sure if in other parts of Spain they do it too, but here the children wear lanterns to the parade. So this is Bubu’s one.

~~&~~

It's made of aluminium wire, red tulle and felt. When I was a child the lanterns used to have a candle inside, now there are only LEDs…

~~&~~

So, my next post will be about the handmade presents... Till then I leave you with the fantastic linky-parties:

~~&~~

      Gutes Neues Jahr!!
