Bolsa cochecito – Stroller Changing Bag

La bolsa del cochecito dijo basta después de usarla un par de años con Bubu. En realidad no era una bolsa cambiador de verdad, era una bolsa de promoción que, cosa rara, no llevaba ningún nombre de lo que promocionaba…

A la hora de preparar las cositas antes de nacer mini Bubu, pensé que tendría que coser una nueva bolsa, y entonces, sin ni siquiera buscarla, apareció una bolsa idéntica y nueva en un armario (se ve que cuando hacía promociones me quedé algunas y ya ni me acordaba…).

Así que genial, ¡sólo tendría que tunearla!

The bag I had for the stroller “said enough” after using it a few years for Bubu. It wasn’t a real changing bag actually, it was a promotional messenger bag which surprisingly had no label of the product to promote.

When preparing all stuff before mini Bubu’s birth, I thought I would have to sew a new bag to replace the old one, and then, without even looking for it, I found another identical one, brand-new (apparently I kept a few when I worked as a hostess, and I didn’t remember… ahem…).

So good for me, I would only had to pimp it!

Había partes de la bolsa vieja que aún estaban bien y que se podían reutilizar, como los bolsillos con cremallera (además siempre vienen bien, ¿verdad?), así que los quité y cosí uno grande en la parte trasera de la bolsa nueva y uno en el forro interior.

Porque forré la bolsa, está claro, ¿no? ;-) Con una loneta del mercado, por cierto.

There were parts of the old bag that were still ok, and could be reused, like zippered pockets (they are always useful, aren’t they?), so I removed them and attached them, a big one to the back and a small one to the lining.

Because, of course, I lined the new bag!

Incluso hice una extension del forro, de esas que permiten que la bolsa crezca un poco para arriba y que lo mantienen todo dentro con un cierre de esos de cuerda (es que no sé cómo se llama todo esto).

I even did that sort of extensions of the lining that enable the bag to grow a bit and keep everything inside with a cord lock, I don’t know how are they called.

Con un poco de tela de la vieja, creé un bolsillo lateral también.

With some fabric of the old one I created a side pocket too.

Y reutilicé las tiras y el material de plástico de la vieja para hacer las tiras que sujetan la bolsa al cochecito.

And I reused the straps and plastic hardwareof the old bag to do the holding fasteners (or however they are called too).

Y finalmente, cosí una banda tejida a la solapa, para darle un toque más infantil, ¡que sinó era negra negruzca! Ideal para participar en el sarao de Hilos y más #putalabelonit, ¿no?

Last but not least, I sewed a band to the bag flap, to give it a more child-friendly appearance…

Ya véis, un RUMS práctico y no muy creativo hoy…

Experimentos con el telar circular – Experiments on a round knitting loom

Hoy mis experimentos con telar circular. En otoño encontré un set de telares en una tienda y pensé que por el precio bien merecía la pena probar.

Lo primero que hice fue este cuello para mí (aunque Bubu dice que es perfecto para ella también), así que aquí tenéis mi modesto RUMS de hoy…

Today my experiments on a round knitting loom. In autumn I found a set of looms at a store and I thought that for the low price I could try them.

The first thing I did was this cowl for me (although Bubu says it’s perfect for her too…), so here my modest RUMS…

Entonces hice un gorro y una bufanda para mini Bubu, con una lana super suave de la misma tienda.

Then I did a hat and a scarf for mini Bubu, in a very soft wool from the same shop.

Y finalmente un gorro para Bubu, mezclando las lanas nuevas con otras que tenía de mi abuela. Y como Bubu se ponía mi cuello cuando quería, pues no le hice bufanda…

Una pena que no haya hecho mucho invierno este año, porque no nos lo hemos puesto demasiado y lo de mini Bubu ya no le va a ir bien el año que viene… pero así me obligo a hacer más el año que viene, y esto es bueno.

Definitivamente los telares circulares molan y son prácticos para gente como yo, que ha aprendido mil veces a hacer (lo básico de) media y ganchillo y siempre se olvida.

And finally a hat for Bubu, mixing new wool with remains I had from my grandma. And because Bubu took my cowl every time she wanted, I didn’t do a scarf for her…

A pity that we didn’t have a proper winter this year, we didn’t wear them that often and mini Bubu’s set is not going to fit anymore… but this way I’ll have to do more next year, and that’s good.

Round looms are definitely something fun and practical for people like me, who have learnt thousand times how to (basic) knit and crochet and always forget…

Moomin T-shirt

Hoy otro de los regalos de cumple de Bubu: una camiseta amarilla con Moomin (y última contribución al #yellowisthenewblack).

A Marta @Fushu Fana le sobraba un Moomin de vinilo y lo adopté. Como Bubu no sabía quien era este personaje , le busqué un par de libros para completar el regalo.

One more birthday present for Bubu, who turned four last week. This time a yellow Moomin T-shirt (and last contribution to #yellowisthenewblack).

Marta @Fushu Fana had this spare vinyl Moomin and I adopted it. Because Bubu didn’t know who this character was, I looked for a pair of books to complete the present. 

Para coser el cuerpo, reciclé una camiseta de tiras nueva que ya no sé quién me dio. Usé un patrón básico de Serger Pepper como guía para cortarlo. Las mangas las dibujé yo misma y quedaron como esperaba (habrían podido quedar un truño también, claro… jajaja). Y añadí un lazo de retales.

I made the T-shirt recycling a tank top. I used a basic tee pattern by Serger Pepper as a guide. I drafted the cap sleeves myself, an experiment that turned out successfully (it could have gone wrong as well, of course… hahaha). And I added some scraps deco.

Lo que no me acaba de gustar es el cuello. Lo hice con FOE, pero hubiera quedado mil veces mejor acabado ribeteado normal. Pero bueno, la parte positiva es que con el FOE el cuello es tan elástico, que no tendremos problemas de atascamientos de cabeza…

What I don’t like is the finishing of the neckline. I did it with FOE, and it would have been nicer doing it the normal way. Positive part of it is that with FOE the neck is extremely elastic so we don’t have any problems dressing and undressing.

Y esto es todo. Bubu no pudo tener camiseta de matrioskas como la de su hermana, pero una amarilla sí. Y está más feliz que una perdiz.

And that’s all. Bubu couldn’t have a matrioshka tee like her sister’s, but she got a yellow one too. And she is now more than happy.

Felt Yellow Submarine

Esta costura no necesita muchas palabras… es un Submarino amarillo de fieltro.

Algunos de vosotros ya vistéis partes en mi Instagram (kuka.bubu).

Bubu es gran fan de la película con el mismo nombre (la ha visto más de 20 veces…) y de la música de los Beatles. Es culpa de mi padre, que le pone todo tipo de música menos infantil, jajajaja

Y nada, mañana Bubu cumple años y sé que esto va a ser una buena sorpresa.

Aprovecho para enlazar en el #yellowisthenewblack de FushuFana y Cal Joan y más, que a ver qué hay más prototípico amarillo que este submarino (vale, me viene a la cabeza el “tractor amarillo” de Zapato Veloz… pero no mola tanto…). 

 

 

This project doesn’t need much words… this is a felt Yellow Submarine. Some of you already saw parts of it on my Instagram (kuka.bubu).

Bubu is a fan of the same named film (she has seen it over 20 times…) and the music of The Beatles. It’s my father’s fault, because he makes her hear all sort of music except nursery rhymes.

Tomorrow is her birthday and I know this will be a nice surpise.
