¡Y otro cosijuntas! – Sharing fabric, again!

Hace mucho mucho tiempo (bueno vale, no tanto…) hice un intercambio de telas con No sólo coso. Le mandé una telita (ella se cosió este vestido y yo esta falda) y aunque yo no esperaba nada a cambio, ella me mandó un jersey suuuuper gustoso.

Ya era hora que acabara empezara el proyecto. Tenía algo en mente pero como quería hacerme yo misma el patrón, pues nunca encontraba el momento…

Pues nada, aquí está, una especie de skater dress.

A long long time ago I did a fabric swap with No sólo coso. I sent her some fabric (she sewed this dress and I sewed this skirt) and although I didn’t expect nothing in exchange, she sent me a very nice jersey.

It was time I finished started my project with her fabric. I had something in mind, but because I wanted to draft the pattern myself, I never found the time to begin with it…

So, this is the result: a sort of skater dress.

Para el cuerpo empecé con un patrón base que me hice hace tiempo (siguiendo El baúl de las costureras) justamente para estos casos en los que quiero diseñar algo yo misma.

Junté parte de las mangas con el canesú trasero, y le añadí un vivo (¡me encanta el detalle!).

Cuello y falsa tapeta con la misma tela de contraste. Mi idea inicial era coserle uno o dos botones, pero creo que se va a quedar tal cual, ¿qué pensáis?

For the bodice I used a basic pattern I drafted some time ago with my measurements, in order to have it to “design” my own garments.

I joined part of the sleeves with the back yoke, and added some piping (I like this detail!).

Neckline and a false button placket with the same contrast fabric. My initial idea was to sew one or two buttons there, but I think I’ll leave it without, what do you think?

La falda es de media capa y usé el tutorial de Fent Pensant Dient para hacer mis cálculos.

Estuve dudando de dónde tenía que ir la costura, o si debería haber hecho dos a los lados, ya que la espalda no va partida en dos. Seguro que la he cagao dejándola en el centro, ¿verdad? ¡Costureras profesionales, manifiéstense!

The skirt is a half circle, I used the tutorial by Fent Pensant Dient to do the calculations.

Camiseta raglán negra – Black raglan tee (Free pattern by It’s always autumn)

¡Hola! Hacía tiempo que no cosía nada para mí y ¡ya era hora de coser egoístamente!, ¿no? Esta es la camiseta que ha roto la mala racha costuril.

Hace tiempo perdí la única camiseta de manga larga negra que tenía (que alguien me explique cómo se puede perder una camiseta, ¡porque no tengo ni idea de dónde está!), así que necesitaba una urgentemente.

Como ya estoy cansada de coser siempre el mismo patrón (la Plantain: aquí, aquí, aquí, aquí, aquí...), quería probar algo nuevo. Encontré la Easy Tee de It’s always autumn, en versión raglan, y probé. Es un patrón gratis, por cierto.

Es una talla L, así que tuve que entrar bastante de mangas y lados.

Me inventé dos mini pliegues en el delantero (creo que es porque me recuerdan a la camiseta que perdí… jajajaja), y le añadí dos botones dorados abajo en los lados.

Y como tenía ganas de aprender algo nuevo, pillé las instrucciones de la remalladora para hacer la costura flatlock, y así es como hice el dobladillo.

Y con la camiseta estoy lista para RUMS.

Hi! I haven’t been sewing for me for ages… It was time to sew something selfish!!

Some time ago I lost the only basic long sleeved black t-shirt I had (how can someone loose a T-shirt? I really have no clue where it can be!), so I urgently needed one.

Because I usually sew the same pattern (the Plantain: here, here, here, here, here...) I wanted to do something new. I found the Easy Tee by It’s always autumn, in raglan version, and I thought it was worth a try. It’s a free pattern.

It’s a size L, so I had to take in the sides and sleeves quite a lot.

I added the two mini pleats at the front (they remind me of the t-shirt I lost… hahaha), and the two golden buttons at the bottom sides.

And because I felt like learning something new, I finally read the overlock instructions on how to do the flatlock stitch, and that’s how I hemmed the t-shirt.

And now I’m ready for RUMS.

African Print (Ottobre)

Gracias a Fils and Draps (merci guapi!), que me regaló la última Ottobre Mujer (2/2016), puedo participar en el Cose Conmigo del vestido “african print” organizado por el Blog de Fans de Ottobre.

Thanks to Fils and Draps (thank you darling!), who gifted me the last Ottobre Woman (2/2016), I have been able to take part in the sew-along organized by Blog de Fans de Ottobre, to sew the dress “African Print”.

Escogí un chambray que compré en Cal Joan, aunque sólo tenía un metro. (Sí, no sé por qué carajos pensé que no me cosería nada con este estampado, con lo chulo que es. El caso es que compré la tela para hacer algo para las niñas originalmente, y ahora ha volado… sorry Bubus…).

Lo único es que al tener tan poca tela, no podía hacer mangas. Así que, ¡marchando un vestido veraniego!

I chose a chambray I had bought in Cal Joan, although I only had one meter (I don’t know why on earth I thought I would never do something for me with this print, because I love it… but the fact is that I bought it originally to do something for the girls – sorry Bubus…).

The only thing about choosing this fabric for the dress is that I couldn’t make sleeves. So, sleeveless dress for me, please!

Como sé que los señores Ottobre tallan grande, calqué una menos. Mi horror sorpresa fue ver que aun así el vestido me íba grande… de verdad que parecía una bata de yaya.

Suerte que mi querida Modistilla de Pacotilla me dio unos consejos inteligentes, y entré por todas las costuras, e hice el pliegue central (mi idea inicial).

Because I know that Ottobre’s sizes are quite generous, I traced one size smaller. My horror surprise was to discover that even so the dress turned out too loose… I really looked like a granny in a gown.

My dear Modistilla de Pacotilla gave me some clever advice, and I took in all seams, plus I did the center pleat (my initial idea).

La abertura en la espalda es mi parte favorita, claro. Y en lugar de un botón le puse un snap.

The opening at the back is my favourite part, of course. Instead of a button I put a heart snap.

Colchón de sillita – Stroller mat

 

Esta es una típica costura #sewmbie. Noche antes de irnos de vacaciones y me doy cuenta de que un colchoncito para la sillita de paseo nos iría de lujo, porque no nos vamos a llevar el cochecito grande para mini Bubu.

Pillo dos telas, lila para el trasero y la de punto de estrellas para el delantero. Para mullirlo meto dos capas de toalla reciclada.

Cosiendo a toda máquina para que me quede algo de rato para dormir… ¡y listo!

This is a typical #sewmbie sewing project. Night before living on holiday I realize a stroller mat would come in handy, because we aren’t taking the big pram for mini Bubu.

I grab two fabrics, purple like the stroller for the wrong side, and the starred jersey for the right side. And two layers towel (recycling, yes!) on the inside.

Sewing against the clock to get some sleep too… and ready!
