Dos prendas, para mi sobrina y mi sobrino.

El vestido “Stars in blue Sky” de la Ottobre 6/2015 y la camiseta “Simple new” de la Ottobre 3/2016. Ambos con esta tela de estrellas (también usada aquí y aquí) que compré en Cal Joan hace mil años.

Fueron costuras un poco frustrantes, porque no atiné con la talla. El vestido le iba demasiado grande a la bebé y la camiseta demasiado estrecha… brrrr

Two garments for my niece and my nephew.

The “Stars in blue Sky” Dress from Ottobre 6/2015 and the T-shirt “Simple new” from Ottobre 3/2016. Both with this starred fabric (also used here and here) I bought in Cal Joan ages ago.

It was a bit frustrating because both pieces didn’t turn out the right size. The dress was too big for the baby, and the t-shirt too small… brrrr

Sanibel Dress

Hace más de un año participé en el Sewing Camp (¡qué recuerdos, madre mía!). Allí nos hicieron un montón de regalitos, y uno de ellos fue un patrón de Hey June Handmade.

Escogí el Sanibel Dress and Romper por sus muchas posibilidades: diferentes largos de mangas, cuellos varios, opción falda, opción pantalón…

Y por fin he encontrado el momento de coserlo. Bueno, más bien me he visto obligada a coserlo, porqué puse la tela destinada a este vestido en la lista del reto “12 meses – 12 telas” (impulsado por Marujadas de Peluchona), así que no me quedaba otra que hacerlo antes de acabar el año. Llego derrapando, la verdad.

Y con el vestido recién estrenado ayer día de Navidad, y entre turrón, neula y polvorón, ya sólo me queda desearos unas ¡felices fiestas!

Costuras francesas - French seams

Over a year ago I took part in the Sewing Camp (what nice memories!). There we got lots of presents, and one of them was a pattern by Hey June Handmade.

I chose the Sanibel Dress and Romper for its lots of options: different sleeve lengths, collar shapes, skirt, pants…

And finally I have found the right moment to sew it. I must admit the sewing challenge “12 months – 12 fabrics” (organized by Marujadas de Peluchona) was the right kick, because I put the fabric for this dress on the list, so I had to sew it before New Year’s Eve.

Spin Dress for Mini Bubu

Mini Bubu quería un Spin Dress (Madeit Patterns), porque su hermana tiene uno.

Para su primer día de colegio le hice una Schultüte y le metí el vestido dentro. Una buena sorpresa, ¿no?

La tela es orgánica de By Mami, me tocó en un sorteo de By Mami y Mis primeras puntadas (¡Gracias chicas!).

A Mini Bubu le chiflan los unicornios, ponys y hadas, mucho más que a su hermana, así que era la tela perfecta para ella.

Mini Bubu wanted a Spin Dress (Madeit Patterns), because her sister owns one.

For her first day of school I made a Schultüte for her and I put the dress in it. A nice surprise, isn’t it?

The fabric is a nice organic one from By Mami, from a give-away held by By mami and Mis primeras puntadas (thank you girls!).

Mini Bubu likes unicorns and fairies more than her sister does, so it was the perfect fabric for her.

Easy dress

Otra tela de verano que no cosí en el momento adecuado… Ya sé que es un poco raro enseñar una prenda de verano ahora, pero la tela forma parte de mi “12 meses – 12 telas”. Así que tenía que coserme algo con ella antes de fin de año.

Este vestido lo puse en la lista de deseos desde que me traje el libro “Jersey nähen – Easy basics” de Alemania el año pasado.

La tela transparentaba un poco así que le he añadido forro, reciclando unas camisetas blancas de propaganda.

¡No puedo esperar al verano para llevarlo!

Another summer fabric I didn’t sew at the right moment… It’s quite weird to show a summer garment now, but the fabric it’s part of my “12 months – 12 fabrics”, so I had to do something with it before New Years Eve.

This dress was on my list since I brought the book “Jersey nähen – Easy basics” from Germany last year.

The fabric showed a bit through, so I added lining, made with recycled T-shirts.

Can’t wait for the summer to wear it!

Vestido - Dress

Como veo que aún hace buen tiempo, me he cosido un vestido de verano que tenía en mente desde hace mil años.

De hecho, ya me compré estas telas hará tres años con esa idea.

El patrón lo he sacado a partir de vestidos que ya tenía.

Since we’re still having nice weather, I have done a summer dress I have had in mind for ages.

In fact, I bought this fabrics (telas.es) about three years ago with this idea.

I have drafted the apttern myself, using some dresses I have as a guide.

Estoy especialmente orgullosa de cómo han quedado el cuello y las sisas. Como el bies que tenía era muy ancho y no me gustaba que se viera tanto, primero he cosido la cinta doblada abarcando los dos lados de la tela, para después coser esa parte con bies hacia atrás de la prenda.

I’m specially proud of how nice the neckline and armholes have turned out. Because the bias tape I had was too wide, first af all I sewed it folding it over both sides of the fabric and then I hid it sewing it to the back.

Estoy contenta porqué además se trata de una de mis “12 meses – 12 telas”.

¡Y nada, que de nuevo me paso por el Mimi de las Malas costureras! ¡Que celebran un año!

Sobre el Paperplane y la purpurina… - All about the Paperplane and glitter…

Un vestido que tenía en la lista de la Ottobre 3/2016: el Paperplane.

Se lo cosí a Bubu para su cumple, junto al Spin Dress. Como mi hija es una flor de primavera, y en primavera no se sabe nunca si va a hacer buen o mal tiempo, pues dudaba entre coser manga larga o corta, y al final hice dos vestidos… ¡qué afortunada, ella!

Entonces me dijo que éste no giraba como el otro, está claro que le gusta más el Spin Dress, cómo no… y no importa que éste tenga mariposas de purpurina (que escogió ella)…

Y hablando de purpurina, no voy a comprar nunca más una tela que la contenga (tengo tres retales en el armario que tienen), porque la purpurina es un tipo de microplástico, y contamina muy mucho el agua. Cada vez que lavamos a máquina se desprenden y van a parar a los océanos, a los peces, a nuestra comida. A partir de ahora lavaré prendas con purpurina a mano en un cubo y dejaré que se evapore el agua (porque no me veo pescando copos brillantes del agua cada vez).

Ahí lo dejo, enlazo en el Blog de Fans de Ottobre Design, y me he dado cuenta de que he gastado otra tela de mis 12 meses - 12 telas.

One dress I had on the to-do-list of the Ottobre 3/2016: the Paperplane.

I gave it to Bubu for her birthday, together with the Spin Dress. Because my daughter is a spring flower, and in spring the weather is sometimes nice sometimes not, I couldn’t decide whether to sew long sleeves or short sleeves, so she got two dresses… lucky she!!

Then she said this one doesn’t spin like the other, so she likes Spin Dress the most, of course… it doesn’t matter this one has glitter butterflies (she once chose)…

And talking about glitter, I’m no longer going to buy any fabric with it (I’ve counted three pieces in my entire stash) because glitter is a sort of microplastic, and it pollutes water every time we wash it in the washing machine. This tiny plastic beads travel to the ocean, are eaten by fishes and end up taking them when eating fish. Disgusting! From now on I’m going to wash clothes containing glitter by hand in a bucket and I’m going to let the water evaporate (I don’t feel like fishing the little flakes from the water).

Have you ever thought about that?

Vestido de cumple para Bubu - Birthday dress for Bubu!

Hace unos meses gané un sorteo de Chatchocolat. Me tocaron dos telas orgánicas fantásticas y un patrón de Madeit Patterns: el Spin Dress.

Bubu fue la que escogió la tela azul marino (te daban a escoger entre la azul, una verde y una roja). Creo que yo me habría quedado la roja, pero como Bubu es quien la iba a llevar, pues tenía todo el derecho de elegir, ¿verdad? XD

Last winter I won the giveaway Chatchocolat organized. I got two fantastic organic fabrics and one pattern by Madeit Patterns: the Spin Dress.

It was Bubu who chose the dark blue fabric (there was this blue one, a green and a red one to choose from). I would have taken the red one, I guess, but since she was the one to wear it, she had the right to choose, hadn’t she? XD

 

¡El Spin Dress es genial! Lleva una falda de capa, así que el efecto torbellino ¡está asegurado! Y el patrón incluye bolsillos, cosa imprescindible para cualquiera.

No hice variación alguna al vestido, solamente añadí FOE plateado debajo del remate del cuello. Le da un toque.

The Spin Dress is fantastic! It has the perfect twirl!! And it has pockets too, a must have for everyone!

I didn’t do any alterations on the pattern, the only thing I added was some silver FOE under the neckline binding. I think it makes a nice detail.

Me alegro de haber usado otra de mis “12 meses – 12 telas”. En realidad ya he usado cuatro, pero es la segunda que enseño, ¡tendréis que ser pacientes!

Y con esto y un bizcocho, me voy al Menuda Inspiración… ya, no rima...

I’m glad to have used another of my “12 months - 12 fabrics”. I’ve already used four so far, but I haven’t shown yet! You’ll have to be patient!

New Bohéme (Ottobre)

Ya era hora de que cosiera este vestido. Le tenía ganas desde que lo vi en la Ottobre 5/2014. Y además lo quería en el mismo color, así que todo gris para mí.

El único cambio que le he hecho al patrón son las mangas. Las originales me quedaban demasiado cortas, así que le añadí puños con la misma tela.

¡10 puntos para las que la semana pasada adivinaron de qué patrón se trataba!

Ya solo me queda compartirlo en Mimi (Malas Costureras), en Fans de Ottobre y en Our Sewing World.

It was time I sewed this dress. I wanted to, since I saw it on the Ottobre 5/2014. And I liked it in exactly the same color, so, plain grey for me!

The only change I made on the pattern were the sleeves. The original ones were too short for me, so I added cuffs.

10 points to the ones who last week guessed which pattern it was!
