It’s getting hot in Spain! We needed
new shorts immediately, so the sewalong from “Mi rincón de mariposas” came at
the right moment!
I thought about making a pair for me
at first, but then I considered doing another pair for Bubu, because the
pattern is quite simple. And call me “freak”, I couldn’t help myself doing them
identical…
The starry fabric is from the
Saturday’s market, it’s a kind of piqué, less than 2€ the remnant. I still have
some remaining after finishing the shorts.

Está empezando a hacer muuucho calor… Necesitábamos shorts
nuevos inmediatamente, así que el CC de “Mi rincón de mariposas” no podía ser
más oportuno!
Primero tenía pensado hacer unos para mí, pero después pensé
que Bubu se merecía otros, además el patrón es bastante sencillo. Y llamadme “friki”,
pero no me he podido resistir y los he hecho iguales…
La tela de estrellitas es del mercado del sábado, es una especie
de piqué, menos de 2€ el retal. Después de terminar los pantalones todavía me
quedan trozos.
I did variations on both patterns.
For my shorts I reduced about ½ cm on both sides, and I didn’t left any seam
allowance (that’s what she proposes for a size M). They are still a bit too
loose for me, but it’s ok since I wanted them to be comfy.
For Bubu’s shorts, I reduced 3 cm
from the waist, and 0.7 cm from each side. And I didn’t left seam allowance
again. I think she will be wearing them next year too.

He hecho variaciones en los dos
patrones. Para los míos he reducido ½ cm por cada lado, y no le dejé
margen de costura (esto es lo que propone Dawn para hacer una talla M). Aún así
me van un poco holgados, pero me va bien porque los quería hiper cómodos.
Para
los de Bubu (talla 12 meses), he reducido 3 cm del alto de cintura, y 0,7 cm de
cada lado. Y de nuevo no le he dejado margen de costura. ¡Creo que el año que
viene todavía le vendrán bien!
I did the pockets, the waistband and
the bottom hem with jersey, recycling an old T-shirt. It was handy doing it
this way, especially for the pockets, because I could sew them directly (only
the opening has a hem).
Because the jersey was no longer
that stretch and I didn’t have enough of it, I did the waistband like Mónica
from “Rojo ababol” proposed, threading an elastic through it.
And by the way, I drew a pocket for
the mini version, because it was not there (although Dawn proposed thousand
pocket alternatives).

He
hecho los bolsillos, la cintura y los bajos con una camiseta vieja. Ha sido
práctico especialmente para los bolsillos, porque he podido coserlos tal cual al pantalón
(solamente tienen un mini dobladillo en la apertura).
Como
esta tela ya no era demasiado elástica y además no me daba para mucho, he hecho
la cintura como Mónica de “Rojo ababol” propone, haciéndola estrecha y pasándole
una goma.
¡Ah!
Y he dibujado un bolsillo para la versión baby, que no venía en el patrón (¡aunque
Dawn nos ha propuesto miles de alternativas para bolsillos!).
