Funda de la ScanNcut – Cover for my ScanNcut

¿Puedo escribir sobre algo que cosí hace cuatro años ya? La verdad es que es un poco penoso…

Es lo que hay… Aquí está la funda que le hice a mi ScanNcut. Quería que conjuntara con las otras dos fundas de máquina que tenía entonces, así que usé un retal sobrante de haber hecho la segunda funda.

La primera funda me la regaló Laura de @Con mis manitas, así que la combinación de telas y la idea del volante son suyas. ¡El mérito a quien lo merece!

Can I show you something I did about four years ago and I hadn’t posted yet? It’s quite embarrassing…

Well, this is the cover for my ScanNcut. I wanted it to be matching the other two machine covers I had then, so I used a remnant left from doing the second cover.

I got the first cover gifted by Laura @Con mis manitas, so the fabric combo and the ruffle are actually her ideas.

Y para compensar la costura vieja os enseño el último vinilo que hice. Es el “piedra, papel, tijeras, lagarto, Spock” de The Big Bang Theory. Básicamente un CVCQ, ya que he visto a montones por la blogosfera, pero claro, necesitábamos la nuestra en casa, bueno, mi marido la necesitaba, fue en regalo para él, jejejeje.

I’ll show you the last vinyl I did, to make up for this “old” sewing project I’ve shown you today. It’s the “Rock, Paper, Scissors, Lizard, Spock” from The Big Bang Theory. I’ve seen so many on the blogosphere, but we just needed one at home, hehehehe, well, my hubby needed, it was a present for him.

Pues ahora a compartirlo en Mimi (Malas Costureras).

Moomin T-shirt

Hoy otro de los regalos de cumple de Bubu: una camiseta amarilla con Moomin (y última contribución al #yellowisthenewblack).

A Marta @Fushu Fana le sobraba un Moomin de vinilo y lo adopté. Como Bubu no sabía quien era este personaje , le busqué un par de libros para completar el regalo.

One more birthday present for Bubu, who turned four last week. This time a yellow Moomin T-shirt (and last contribution to #yellowisthenewblack).

Marta @Fushu Fana had this spare vinyl Moomin and I adopted it. Because Bubu didn’t know who this character was, I looked for a pair of books to complete the present. 

Para coser el cuerpo, reciclé una camiseta de tiras nueva que ya no sé quién me dio. Usé un patrón básico de Serger Pepper como guía para cortarlo. Las mangas las dibujé yo misma y quedaron como esperaba (habrían podido quedar un truño también, claro… jajaja). Y añadí un lazo de retales.

I made the T-shirt recycling a tank top. I used a basic tee pattern by Serger Pepper as a guide. I drafted the cap sleeves myself, an experiment that turned out successfully (it could have gone wrong as well, of course… hahaha). And I added some scraps deco.

Lo que no me acaba de gustar es el cuello. Lo hice con FOE, pero hubiera quedado mil veces mejor acabado ribeteado normal. Pero bueno, la parte positiva es que con el FOE el cuello es tan elástico, que no tendremos problemas de atascamientos de cabeza…

What I don’t like is the finishing of the neckline. I did it with FOE, and it would have been nicer doing it the normal way. Positive part of it is that with FOE the neck is extremely elastic so we don’t have any problems dressing and undressing.

Y esto es todo. Bubu no pudo tener camiseta de matrioskas como la de su hermana, pero una amarilla sí. Y está más feliz que una perdiz.

And that’s all. Bubu couldn’t have a matrioshka tee like her sister’s, but she got a yellow one too. And she is now more than happy.

Camisetas con la inicial (jugando con el plotter) - Initial T-shirts (playing with the plotter)

Estas camisetas son parte del regalo de Navidad para mis sobrinos. Y fueron una buena excusa para estrenar la scanNcut y el vinilo textil.

Como ya habréis deducido, los diseños son las iniciales de los niños. Dibujé y pinté las letras a mano porque no me daba tiempo a aprender a usar un programa de vectores, fue la mar de entretenido...

Tuve suerte y encontré el mismo modelo de camiseta en todas las tallas, de la 68 a la 122! Quedan monas una al lado de otra, verdad?

Parte de los regalos a los mayores fue (más bien será, que aún no lo hemos hecho) una sesión de fotos con los peques, todos con sus camisetas, claro. Corté tarjetas en forma de cámara a modo de "vales".

Aún me queda para aprender... sólo falta tiempo...

These T-shirts were part of the Christmas presents for my nephews. They were a great excuse to use the scanNcut and textile vinyl for the first time.

As you can guess the designs are the initials of the names of the kids. I draw and painted the letters on my own, by hand, because I had no time to learn how to use a vector program properly… it was time consuming but relaxing at the same time…

I had luck and I found the very same t-shirt model in all sizes, from 68 to 122! They look nice all t-shirts one next to the other, don’t they?

Part of the presents for the grown-ups was (will be, actually, it didn’t took place yet) a photo shooting session with the kids, all wearing their tees. I cut cards with the plotter too.

I still have a lot to learn... I only need time!
