If you
follow Spanish sewing blogs, you’ll know about this beautiful solidarity
initiative. But I’ll explain briefly for the ones who don’t know, so that the
message spreads. Maybe this way the initiative will take place in other
countries too.
Kimo-Kaps
are the headscarves / bandanas that wear children who are receiving oncological
treatment. One
of the founders of the project, who works with these children,
saw how they all showed up with bald heads, as we suddenly had nice weather. She
thought that sewing cheerful and colorful headscarves for them would be a
good idea.

I think it's a nice way to let them know we don't forget they are there, and giving them something handmade with love.

Si seguís blogs de costura españoles, ya sabréis de qué
trata esta iniciativa solidaria tan bonita. Pero lo explicaré brevemente para
los que no la conocéis, a ver si más gente se anima a participar.
Los Kimo-Kaps son los pañuelos / bandanas que utilizan los
niños que están recibiendo tratamiento oncológico. Una de las fundadoras del
proyecto, que trabaja con estos niños, se encontró que al empezar a hacer buen
tiempo de golpe, todos dejaron de utilizar los gorros de invierno y quedaron
con sus cabecitas al descubierto. Pensó que coserles pañuelos alegres y coloridos
sería una buena idea.

Personalmente creo que es una buena manera de hacerles saber que no nos olvidamos de que están ahí, dándoles algo hecho a mano con amor.
