Our Number One! – Felt medal - tutorial - medalla de fieltro

Happy Father’s Day!!

I know in other countries they celebrate the Father’s Day on other dates, but we do it today!

I think my hubby deserves a mention, because he has helped me a lot with this blog, as he always has done (specially when it comes to high-tech-things).

For that and because he is the best father for Bubu, I award him this medal. Well, Bubu can’t speak yet but I’m sure she agrees on this, so he’s now officially our NUMBER ONE!

~~&~~

Here a picture of the pieces before putting them together and a picture of the back side.

~~&~~

I seize the opportunity to show you two other felt medals I did for Bubu’s birth’s “godfather” and “godmother”.

~~&~~

Since today is Tuesday, we can take a look at Creadienstag, to see what other projects are there from the crafty girls!

These dolls lose their minds! – ¡Estas muñecas pierden la cabeza!

These are the Disa Sisters, also known as the “Disasters”… because they lose their minds quite often and because of the Velcro… hihihihi

~~&~~

I wanted to sew a doll or two for Bubu’s birthday. I asked my hubby which of the dolls or animals on my Pinterest boards he liked the most. He said I should do something on my own instead of copying and, as an efficient product designer, he gave me the idea of making these dolls with interchangeable heads and legs…

~~&~~

I don’t have many fotos of the process. Here you can see how I did one head, the back side of the other one, and a pair of legs. And I must say, I did the most of the work by hand.

~~&~~

What I don’t like from the dolls is that Velcro thing, it makes it difficult to sew, and the pieces end up with weird shapes…

~~&~~

Bubu was faster than me and grabbed the dolls before I was able to hide them until the B-Day. Now that she’s sleeping they‘ve found a safe place to wait till then.

~~&~~

Creative Family

Today I’m dedicating this post to the people that have done something for Bubu with their hands!

I’ll begin with my sister, who knitted these fantastic sweaters.

~~&~~

Then there is my mother-in-law, who has been working hard for my girl: a sweater, a towel, and the cross-stitch-work on a bag and on two bibs! Wow!!

~~&~~

¡¡Uauu!!

My mummy has also done something: the cross-stitch detail on a hooded towel. Design of mine, total minimalist I love it!!

~~&~~

Diseño mío, minimalista total, ¡¡me encanta!!

Marta, one of my best friends, also a cross-stitch-fan, did two bibs and one beautiful picture (have you spotted the three giraffes, hihihi).

~~&~~

Jijiji).

And last but not least, two of my mother-in-law’s sisters also did something! Pili knitted a vest, and Sussi did a patchwork picture!

~~&~~

What a creative family, isn’t it??

¿¿Qué familia más creativa, verdad?

Tutorial: Ribbon Tag Ball – Pelota con etiquetas

Ok! You’re right! It’s more like a pumpkin, rather than a ball… I didn’t stuff it enough, but I like it this way!

[For those people without kids that may ask why is that I sew so many tags on a ball: I don’t know the reason, but babies loooove tags, buttons, cords and laces!!]

This little project is perfect to get rid of fabric and ribbon scraps (I used old pajamas, shirts and scraps from other needleworks, for instance).

~~&~~

Trace and cut (don’t forget the seam allowance) six fabric pieces, and a few ribbon and cord pieces (I had 3 for each seam). Here you can find a pattern for the fabric pieces.

~~&~~

Place two of the pieces right sides together, put the folded ribbons in between, like shown, and pin all together, so that they don’t move.

~~&~~

Repeat the process until you have pinned the whole.
                                         ~~&~~

Now begin stitching. Don’t forget to leave an opening to turn your ball right side out.
~~&~~
Ahora empieza a coser.

Then turn it, stuff it, and sew the opening. I added one button and one gem at the ends, to hide the last stitches, that were a bit messy from my point of view.

Inside the ball you can place some little bells, or a little box (a plastic one if you want to wash it often) with pearls, and it will be even funnier for your baby.

~~&~~

Last weekend I discovered Meitlisache and Meertjes-Stuff, so I’m glad I can participate in them. Take a look at the sites, to see what other projects have done the crafty girls!
