Robot

Bubu has a “Robot-phase”, she sees robots everywhere, draws robots, speaks, walks and dances like a robot, and if she could she would look at robot videos on Youtube the whole day.

What did I have to do?? A robot, of course!!

~~&~~

Almost 100% reclycling: you can see my old jeans, the fabric scraps and wadding from a cushion of a workmate.

~~&~~

These are the pieces with fusible interfacing on the back.

~~&~~

Estas son las piezas con entretela adhesiva.

The eyes can move.

~~&~~

Los ojos se mueven.

And it wears rollerblades… Bubu enjoys seeing all sort of skates, rollerblades, scooters… so she loves the fact that her robot can skate too!!

The arms are attached to the body with snaps, so they can move too.

~~&~~

Y lleva patines…

And with Bubu’s new best friend let’s go link-partying:

Back to RUMS! With new leggings!!

A short post to show you me brand new leggings!!

Done in stretch fabric, following the instructions of Maider @ Masustak eguzkitan, who organized a sew along early this year, but left all the explanations on the blog for those who wanted to sew them later, like me.

She only wrote it in Spanish and Basque, but if you are a little experienced and follow the pictures, I think it’s quite easy (requires some Maths only…).

Because you draw your own pattern using your own measurements they turn out peeeerfect!!! Really!! They couldn’t be more comfortable!!

Elephant in pink – Elefante en rosa

Last week I received a birth announcement card from Poland. Agata, a friend I know from my student days in Germany, has got a baby girl!!

Welcome to the world Liliana Sara!

I couldn’t resist sewing an Elephant in pinks, with microcord and a sort of piqué.

It’s the free pattern I found at Birch Fabrics again: the Henry & Helga and Baby.

My nephew has the version in blue-brown, if you remember.

Have a nice week!

¡Feliz semana!

Bags for baby’s stuff – Bolsitas para cosas de bebé

I owed you this bag… Two months ago I showed the elephant I sewed for a baby but I didn’t tell you who it was… because the baby wasn’t born and I still had to show you this bag…

So, the little cutie who received the presents was Ot, Bubu’s new cousin!!! Yippiiieyyy, another nephew for us!!!

~~&~~

Sewn with piqué and lined with white cotton (= bedsheet).
Strings to pull and close the bag.
I added a little “k&b” label inside.
And the name and two elephants cross stitched.

~~&~~

I did the same for Julia, my cousin’s baby (I sewed a few more things for her, remember?)

~~&~~

Here two more bags, Bubu’s one, and Carla’s one (who got also the finger puppets).

We use the bag to store a set of clean clothes for Bubu in the stroller, because you never know…

~~&~~

And with this simple gift idea, let’s visit:

Dress the doll - Viste la muñeca

My second and last contribution to Mi Rincón de Mariposas’ “Adiós retales 2014” (=”Bye bye scraps”). The first one was the patchwork pencil case.

The most complicated part was the zippered bag that keeps the game safe. I had to sew the zipper twice, because at first the pull tab was on the inside, hahahaha

As you can see, I sewed a felt girl and pockets on the inside.

~~&~~

The funniest part was to cut all the small garment outlines for the doll from fusible interfacing, and then finding and ironing the perfect scraps for each of them.

~~&~~

Bubu found the game funny, she liked doing weird combinations.

I think I’m going to do a few more pieces: glasses, bags and maybe more garments.

~~&~~

And that’s all for today! - ¡Y esto es todo por hoy!

We’re back!! – ¡¡Estamos de vuelta!!

We’ve done all around the Lake Constance (Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and its surroundings. I’m not going to bore you with holiday pictures, of course, but I can tell you it’s really beautiful.

~~&~~

I took the opportunity to meet Veronika, from the blog Tag für Ideen, who lives in the near Austrian mountains there. I love her work and we have been in touch since we discovered each other (we even exchanged gifts last Christmas). She has a little girl the same age as Bubu, so we have a lot in common.

And now we finally got to meet in person at 2020 meters, isn’t that great? We really had a great time! Bubu still remembers little Lilly and her family!

~~&~~

Lastly, I want to show what I brought from my trip. I only managed to buy this… it’s so sad… going to German speaking countries, where they always sew with colorful fabrics and only buying this grey one…

In my defense I must say that I tried to visit two stores Veronika recommended me twice, but they were closed the two times for different reasons… sad, sad, I told you…

~~&~~

And all this to tell you that I’m back online!! So, see you soon!

~~&~~
